The high school football season in North Dakota came to a close over the weekend with Dakota Bowl state championship games in four classifications at the FargoDome. Century was among the winners, taking home the trophy in Division AAA and finishing No. 1 in the final MaxPreps Top 25 state computer rankings.
The Patriots (10-0) dominated Sheyenne (West Fargo) 34-0 in Friday's championship game, earning the program's fourth state crown since 2015 and second in a row. Senior running back
Cade Garcia finished with 142 yards and two touchdowns in Century's Dakota Bowl triumph.
In addition to titles in 2015, 2016, 2019 and now 2020, the Bismarck power made championship game appearances in 2011, 2012 and 2018. The school opened in 1976.
Century will enter the 2021 campaign riding a 24-game win streak after its second consecutive unbeaten season. The Patriots experienced some close calls in August and September but hit their stride down the stretch this fall, winning their last seven games by an average margin of 36 points.
Three-peat Division A champion Langdon/Edmore/Munich (13-0) deserves special mention after beating Lisbon in the title game, winning its 38th consecutive game.
The Cardinals averaged 42.6 points per game while limiting eight of 13 opponents to 10 points or less. Senior twin brothers

Grant Romfo led the way throughout the season, accounting for six touchdowns in the state championship victory
