Warren County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Park View Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Warren County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Last Friday, Warren County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-48 to the Cougars. Warren County has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Warren County's defeat came about despite a quality game from Bryce Bergmann, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bergmann has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Will Bergmann, who scored five points.
Meanwhile, Park View pushed their score all the way to 77 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to John Champe 82-77. While losing is never fun, Park View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Knights are ranked 130th).
Park View might have lost, but man, Noah Calalang was a machine: he scored 31 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Nicola, who scored 17 points.
Warren County's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Park View, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
Warren County took a serious blow against the Patriots in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 70-42. Can Warren County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
