The Seminole Warhawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 65-21 victory over Tarpon Springs. That 44 points margin sets a new team best for Seminole this season.
Seminole had a senior duo take command as Devon Swartz scored 16 points along with two blocks and Laney Pearson scored 17 points. Swartz has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Santore, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Tarpon Springs still got an impressive performance from Lexi Cipollini, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Tarpon Springs struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Seminole is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Tarpon Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Seminole will take on Osceola at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tarpon Springs won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fivay at 8:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Fivay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 last Friday.
