The Sunnybrook Christian Lions lost against the Lifegate Christian Falcons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sunnybrook Christian was dealt a 54-18 loss at the hands of Lifegate Christian. While losing is never fun, Sunnybrook Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1586th, while Lifegate Christian is ranked 702nd).
Lifegate Christian was led to victory by Elena Mendez and Anelyna Cavazos. Mendez scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Cavazos dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Mendez is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailee Lipsey, who scored six points along with eight steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Sunnybrook Christian and nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for Lifegate Christian, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-1.
Sunnybrook Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-12 loss vs. Founders Classical Academy on the 8th. Lifegate Christian has also already played their next game, a 57-26 win against Tribe W on the 9th.
