The KIPP Bold City Greyhounds lost against the First Coast Buccaneers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. KIPP Bold City's rough 71-47 loss to First Coast might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, KIPP Bold City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 639th, while First Coast is ranked 220th).
Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joel Hunt , who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Donovan Fils was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
KIPP Bold City's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for First Coast, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP Bold City will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against River City Science Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. River City Science Academy is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for First Coast, they will head out on the road to face off against Yulee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
