Valentine lost against the McCook Bison back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Valentine took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of McCook. Valentine has not had much luck with McCook recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Valentine still got an impressive performance from Kinsey Buechle, who scored 14 points along with 9 steals and 7 rebounds. Buechle scored a full 40% of Valentine's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Valentine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McCook, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Valentine will head out on the road to face off against Mullen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCook, they will square off against Norton at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Norton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
