Bellmont has gone 7-2 against DeKalb recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Braves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Barons at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Bellmont's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
If Bellmont beats DeKalb with 11 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Braves didn't even let Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on the board on Tuesday, marking the Braves' second-straight 11-0 shutout. The Braves haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Bella Ashley made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Bellmont got a massive performance out of Aaliyah Faurote, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Faurote has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emily Bleke, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Bellmont was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but DeKalb ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Norwell 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Barons have posted since April 26th.
Like Bellmont, DeKalb also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophia Gowthrop. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Gowthrop was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Gowthrop wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
The victory got DeKalb back to even at 10-10. As for Bellmont, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Bellmont was able to grind out a solid victory over DeKalb when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 9-6. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
