The Jasper Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Archie Whirlwinds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jasper is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Jasper lost to Liberal on the road by a decisive 36-21 margin. Jasper has struggled against Liberal recently, as their match on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Archie waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They blew past Wellington-Napoleon 41-5 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 25-4.
Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Archie, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Everything came up roses for Jasper against Archie in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 59-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jasper since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
