After flying high against the W.S. Neal Eagles last Friday, the Monroe County Tigers came back down to earth. Monroe County ended up on the wrong side of a tough 64-43 walloping at the hands of Jackson on Thursday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Monroe County in their matchups with Jackson: they've now lost five in a row.
Among those leading the charge was Micah Caster, who scored 27 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Jackson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Joseph Taylor, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Monroe County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Jackson, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Monroe County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th. Jackson will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Clarke County at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th.
