Gibbs has won eight straight games at home, while Halls has won eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Eagles will host the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Gibbs 2.2, Halls 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Gibbs is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Scott with a sharp 27-2 win on Tuesday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by six runs or more this season.
Macie Wolfe was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victoria Grubbs, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple.
Gibbs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Halls had just enough and edged out Grace Christian Academy 5-3 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.
Atiana Stamper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Halls saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Wires, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was Wires' first of the season. Makaylie Hutchison was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Gibbs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Halls, their victory bumped their record up to 27-4-1.
Both Gibbs and Halls just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Halls struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Gibbs came out on top in a nail-biter against Halls when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
