Chandler Prep has gone 7-2 against Gilbert Classical Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Titans will be playing at home against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Chandler Prep took an 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Benjamin Franklin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Chargers 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since March 31st.

Dominic Steineke and Robby Hirsch made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Steineke struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hirsch tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Steineke is becoming a predictor of Chandler Prep's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). At the plate, Steineke went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Hirsch went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Gilbert Classical Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Glendale Prep Academy. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Like Chandler Prep, Gilbert Classical Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Beckett Elliot. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Elliot has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Max Fioresi was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ethan Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Gilbert Classical Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Chandler Prep, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Chandler Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. However, it's not like Gilbert Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chandler Prep skirted past Gilbert Classical Academy 6-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
