If The Jackson Polar Bears were feeling good off their 20-0 takedown of the Canton Central Catholic Crusaders last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Jackson took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hoover on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jackson in their matchups with Hoover: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Jackson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Anthony Fuline. Despite the final result, he picked up 168 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Hoover can attribute much of their success to Zac Braucher, who picked up 127 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Isaiah Barker got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Jackson has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Berea-Midpark at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Berea-Midpark will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis DeSales at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (St. Francis DeSales is ranked 142nd, while Hoover is ranked 148th).
