On Friday, King City put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. Everything went their way against Pacific Grove as they made off with a 49-27 victory. The rankings were on King City's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
King City got off to a slow start in their game last week, but they had no such trouble against Pacific Grove as they cruised to a 22-point first half. Pacific Grove wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 22-7 heading into the break. The offense for King City continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 27 points to put the game away.
The win got King City back to even at 4-4. Pacific Grove's loss makes it five in a row and drags their record down to 3-5.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. King City will look to defend their home turf next week against North Monterey County at 7:30 PM. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown. As for Pacific Grove, they will go up against Santa Cruz.
