The West Greene Pioneers had a rough season last year, but theylook ready to turn that poor record around this year. They enjoyed a cozy 31-16 win over Jefferson-Morgan on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Greene.
Billy Whitlatch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 258 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. Johnny Lampe was another key contributor, gaining 44 total yards and two touchdowns.
West Greene has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Jefferson-Morgan, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
West Greene will head out on the road to face off against Mapletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mapletown is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Jefferson-Morgan will take on Carmichaels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carmichaels is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
