Antonian Prep is 3-0 against the Vikings since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Antonian Prep Apaches will be playing at home against the Village Vikings at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Antonian Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 16 matches.
Even though Central Catholic scored an imposing 64 points on Tuesday, Antonian Prep still came out on top. Antonian Prep took their match against the Buttons 76-64. Given Antonian Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while the Buttons are ranked 550th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Village pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of St. Thomas Catholic by a score of 66-64. Village has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Antonian Prep's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-6. As for Village, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Antonian Prep against the Vikings when the teams last played two weeks ago as the squad secured a 80-40 victory. Will Antonian Prep repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
