The St. Francis Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Francis is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for St. Francis at home against Wheatland-Grinnell as the squad secured a 50-12 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.
Lucas Raile went supernova for St. Francis, rushing for 64 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also picking up 64 receiving yards. Dayton Fromholtz also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sylvan-Lucas never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 48-0 win over Logan/Palco. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Sylvan-Lucas' 12-point performance the contest before.
Their wins bumped St. Francis to 3-5 and Sylvan-Lucas to 6-1.
St. Francis came up short against Sylvan-Lucas when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 30-22. Can St. Francis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
