After a string of three wins, the North East Grape Pickers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Harbor Creek by a score of 61-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (55), North East still had to take the loss.
Harbor Creek found their leader in underclassman JT Delsandro, who scored 28 points along with five assists. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for him. Tucker Chwatek was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six assists.
North East's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Harbor Creek, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
North East will head out on the road to face off against Cambridge Springs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cambridge Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 430th, while North East is ranked 71st). Harbor Creek won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Fredonia at 4:30 p.m. on December 16th. Hopefully Fredonia focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday.
