Softball Recap: Hurricane Comes Up Short

If Hurricane was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Snow Canyon last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Desert Hills Thunder on Tuesday, falling 12-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Hurricane saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faith Fuller, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Fuller is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Addi Lauritzen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hurricane moved to 5-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Desert Hills, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-1.

While Hurricane had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
