Softball Recap: Centennial's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

If Centennial was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of Lake Havasu two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Centennial fell just short of the Mountain View Toros by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The Coyotes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Centennial got a good showing from Riley Moncrieff, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Moncrieff has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Centennial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serenity Anchondo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-1. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Centennial will challenge Lake Havasu at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain View, they will square off against Basha at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Basha's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Mountain View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
