Having just played yesterday, the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears will get right back to it and host the Walthill Blujays at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Wakefield, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win. That's two games straight that Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has won by exactly four points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Laurel-Concord-Coleridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyler Olson, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Olson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolby Hansen, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Walthill didn't have too much trouble with Winside at home on Tuesday as they won 55-38. Given Walthill's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Winside is ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Walthill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Parker out in front who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Phillips, who scored 12 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Walthill, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Everything went Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's way against Walthill in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Laurel-Concord-Coleridge made off with a 65-44 victory.
