The Corner Canyon Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 69-57 to Lehi. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryton Valdes, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Feroah, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds.
Corner Canyon bumped their record down to 1-4 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Lehi, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Corner Canyon will play host again and welcome Alta, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in the nation (Alta is ranked 42nd, while Corner Canyon is ranked 30th). As for Lehi, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cardinal Ritter College Prep on Friday. Cardinal Ritter College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Lehi likes a good challenge.
