The Walker Wolverines posted their biggest victory yet this season on Saturday. They blew past Therrell 65-41. Given Walker's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Therrell is ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Walker to victory were Noah Pederson and Moustapha Diop. Pederson dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds, while Diop dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. Diop is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Mccorvey, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Walker is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. As for Therrell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Walker will look to defend their home court on Monday against North Cobb Christian at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully North Cobb Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Therrell, they will head out on the road to square off against Business Engineering Science Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Business Engineering Science Tech is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
