The Xavier College Prep Gators will square off against the O'Connor Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Xavier College Prep's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while O'Connor has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Xavier College Prep's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Millennium as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.
Sydney Root made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makenzie Latvaaho, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Sariah McNabb was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Xavier College Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only posted a batting average of .160.
Meanwhile, O'Connor posted their closest victory since February 27th on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Liberty 3-1.
Daisy Herrera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, O'Connor let Sydnee Williams and Italia Carpio run wild. Williams went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Carpio went 1-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
Xavier College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 19-4. As for O'Connor, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Xavier College Prep hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like O'Connor struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Xavier College Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against O'Connor when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 2-0. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
