The Greencastle Tiger Cubs will head out on the road to face off against the Linton-Stockton Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Greencastle sitting on eight straight wins and Linton-Stockton on seven.
Last Friday, Greencastle won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by North Putnam 30-29.
Lamar Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Moore is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Linton-Stockton put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past North Knox 48-14 on the road. Linton-Stockton pushed the score to 42-7 by the end of the third, a deficit North Knox cut but never quite recovered from.
Linton-Stockton's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paul Oliver, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Linton-Stockton also got a significant boost from Jesse Voigtschild, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
Greencastle's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.8 points per game. As for Linton-Stockton, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
