The King Jaguars and the Taft Eagles squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but sadly the King Jaguars had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Eagles 54-16. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points King has scored all season.
Grace Brumley was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with three steals for Taft. Brumley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mercedes Morales, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
King's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5. As for Taft, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 16-11 record this season.
King will head out on the road to take on the Colonels at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Taft, they will be playing at home against the Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Simeon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Monday.
