The Ranburne Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 22-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thorsby. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ranburne in their matchups with Thorsby: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Ranburne still got an impressive performance from Kaide Garrett, who rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Garrett is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Grayson McManus looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 74 yards and a touchdown. Coden Cummings was another key contributor, rushing for 114 yards on only 13 carries.
Thorsby's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Malachi Allgood and his 2.5 sacks.
Ranburne has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Thorsby, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Ranburne will head out on the road to face off against Central of Coosa County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central of Coosa County is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. As for Thorsby, they will be playing at home against Vincent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Vincent is ranked 243rd, while Thorsby is ranked 218th).
