The biggest upset of the week belonged to Monroe County, who took down 202nd ranked Monroe County, 36-18.
UMS-Wright Prep extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 1 this week by beating Clarke County, 42-20. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Gunner Roach and Troy Dixon gave UMS-Wright Prep a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Roach threw for 59 yards and two touchdowns, while Dixon ran for 191 yards. Teammate D'andre Smith added to the ground attack by rushing for 16 yards.
Trevor Parker was the best wideout in the league this week as Andalusia defeated Wilcox Central. Parker tallied one reception for 54 yards. James Montgomery helped Andalusia's passing attack out by catching one ball for 48 yards.
UMS-Wright Prep's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Roach has thrown for 714 yards and six touchdowns this season, while Tyrone Dixon has 30 catches for 352 yards. Dixon leads the league in rushing with 1103 yards.
Two of the top units in 4A Region 1 will face off this week when Terry Curtis' team takes on the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs' offense has scored 287 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Andalusia has allowed only 97 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when UMS-Wright Prep takes on Brian Seymore's team. As it stands, the Bulldogs are in first, while the Bulldogs are in third.
There should be lots of points scored when UMS-Wright Prep and Andalusia face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 287 this season, while the Bulldogs have scored 177. UMS-Wright Prep scored 42 points last week as it bested the Bulldogs.
Hillcrest made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,276 from 8,243. The advance stemmed from a 48-14 victory over the Jaguars last week.
