Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Bartram Trail Bears walked away with it. They walked away with a 67-55 win over Navarre on Friday. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Laython Biddle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 380 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Biddle really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run. Julian Porter made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Navarre's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Pfiester, who threw for 507 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Mathews, who rushed for 195 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.
Bartram Trail is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Navarre, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-4.
Bartram Trail is on the road again on Friday and play against Niceville at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Niceville is ranked 28th, while Bartram Trail is ranked 36th). Navarre does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
