When it comes to explaining why Central Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Zach Mcdowell. Despite the final result, he scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Mcdowell posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Eggleston, who scored no points.
Leading Monroe to victory were Kaegan Chambers and Zavion Ivey. Chambers scored 15 points along with five assists, while Ivey scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. Jordan Young was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight assists and three steals.
Central Academy dropped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road. As for Monroe, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Central Academy will head out on the road to face off against Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Parkwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matchups. As for Monroe, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Forest Hills at 7:30 p.m. Forest Hills is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65.1 points per game.
