The Belleview Christian Bruins were the 33-29 winner over the Front Range Baptist Falcons when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Belleview Christian fell 32-25 to Front Range Baptist on Tuesday. Belleview Christian found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 15 to 5 on offense.
Despite the loss, Belleview Christian still got an impressive performance from Samantha Ortega, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Ortega is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Harjas Thiara, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Katie Jaques was her usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals for Front Range Baptist.
Belleview Christian's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Front Range Baptist, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belleview Christian will challenge Dawson School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Front Range Baptist, they will head out on the road to take on Lone Star at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Aleighcea Kuntz and Jaques.
