The Danville Blue Devils put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to McDonald for the full four quarters, racking up a 51-7 win at home. The result was nothing new for Danville, who have now won nine games by 30 points or more so far this season.
Danville had a senior duo take command as Walker Weckesser threw for 157 yards and four touchdowns and Cole Delaughder gained 197 total yards and two touchdowns. Delaughder was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Nate Stephens was another key contributor, picking up 88 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Danville's victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. As for McDonald, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Danville has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. McDonald does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
