Anne Arundel County recap Oct. 9, 2012
Arundel extended the longest winning streak in Anne Arundel County this week by beating Old Mill, 66-34. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Southern took down Northeast 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dejuan Neal ran for 154 yards in the win.
The Bulldogs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Corey Contee threw for 64 and one touchdown and Deandre Gross had 28 yards receiving. Malique Pratt helped Southern's passing attack out by catching one ball for 19 yards.
Eric Lindsey made the biggest impact on defense this week as Southern defeated the Eagles. The 6-foot-0 defensive back racked up 1.5 sacks.
Chesapeake's Brandon Blanchard and Aaron Terry have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Blanchard has thrown for 571 yards this season, while Terry, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 23 catches for 312 yards. Neal from Russell Meyers' team leads the league in rushing with 736 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Arundel takes on Broadneck. Chuck Markiewicz's team is currently in first, while the Bruins are in third.
The Wildcats led Anne Arundel County in scoring this week after putting up 66 points on the Patriots.
