The Luther Prep Phoenix lost against the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Luther Prep was the victim of a tough 62-38 loss at the hands of the Timberwolves. While losing is never fun, Luther Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Timberwolves are ranked 66th).
Leading Living Word Lutheran to victory were Delaney Winkelmann and Kaleah Alles. Winkelmann dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Alles scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Winkelmann has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Elaina Raymond, who scored nine points along with seven assists and six steals.
Luther Prep's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-10. As for Living Word Lutheran, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.
Luther Prep will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bishops at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Living Word Lutheran, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Eagles at 7:15 p.m.
