The Holy Cross Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 42-30 to Accelerate Christian. Holy Cross has struggled against Accelerate Christian recently, as their game on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Accelerate Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danity Diaz, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Diaz is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marley Fitzgerald, who scored eight points along with 16 rebounds.
Holy Cross' loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Accelerate Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Accelerate Christian at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. As for Accelerate Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Christ Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
