If the Turpin Cardinals were riding high off their 56-22 takedown of the Merritt Oilers on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Turpin fell just short of Texhoma by a score of 64-62. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Turpin in their matchups with Texhoma: they've now lost seven in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Turpin lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Bryson Parker. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points. Parker scored a full 51.6% of Turpin's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Carson Peters, who scored 14 points.
Turpin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Texhoma, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Turpin will be home for the holidays to greet Shattuck at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Shattuck's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Texhoma will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Laverne at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th.
