The Hammond Golden Bears scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Marriotts Ridge 77-9 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Hammond has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hammond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nia Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Green's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Asia Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Hammond's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. As for Marriotts Ridge, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hammond will be home for the holidays to greet Century at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marriotts Ridge will be home for the holidays to greet Edmondson-Westside at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
