The King's Academy Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season. They blew past Harker 78-42 at home. Given King's Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Harker is ranked 903rd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading King's Academy to victory were Caleb Hughey and Xavier Barnett. Hughey scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Barnett scored 19 points. The matchup was Barnett's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caedmon Dickson, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
King's Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Harker, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
King's Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Lorenzo at 6:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Harker, they will head out on the road to face off against Pinewood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
