The Briggsdale Falcons will face off against the North Park Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Briggsdale and five for North Park.
On Friday, Briggsdale had to suffer through an 85-28 loss at the hands of Otis.
Although Briggsdale took the loss, they still got scores from Jeremiah Sparks, Kaden Sanders, Sering Pino, and Isaiah Trujillo.
Meanwhile, North Park scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a blow against Peetz, falling 57-19. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-0.
Briggsdale will have to contain Aiden Pittington as he made an impact in North Park's last game. He rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 63 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes. Pittington's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
North Park's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Briggsdale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Saturday's game might be decided in the trenches. Briggsdale has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.4 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for North Park, though, as they've been averaging only 80.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Everything came up roses for Briggsdale against North Park when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-12 win. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
