Kenwood is 9-1 against Solorio since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Broncos are taking a road trip to square off against the Sun Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Kenwood knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Solorio likes a good challenge.
It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Kenwood took on Morgan Park on Sunday. The Broncos put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-4 win. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Lance Moon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Damaurion Butler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Solorio lost 14-4 to Brooks on Friday.
Juan Barrientos was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Barrientos was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Barrientos wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keiber Hernandez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Hernandez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Josiah Saucedo, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Kenwood's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Solorio, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.
Solorio's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Kenwood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. It's a different story for Solorio, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Kenwood's hitters?
Kenwood might still be hurting after the 12-3 loss they got from Solorio when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
