2A Salt Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Kaleb (Bubba) Burras Crosses Big Stat Threshold

Starting off the list is Heritage Academy's Kaleb (Bubba) Burras, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. (Bubba) Burras rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 57 yards and a touchdown. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (103.4) per game. He is becoming a predictor of Heritage Academy's success: when he posts at least 100 rushing yards the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

(Bubba) Burras might have his next game, a road matchup with Chandler Prep, circled on his calendar. When (Bubba) Burras last faced the Titans back in October of 2023, he rushed for 383 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 65 yards and two touchdowns.

Paul Soltero's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Academy over San Tan Charter

Paul Soltero put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He rushed for 122 yards on only 12 carries, and also caught a touchdown.

If history really does repeat itself, Soltero might just drop another big game when he faces off against Chandler Prep on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Soltero saw the Titans), he picked up 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 53 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.

San Tan Charter Wins Eighth-Straight Thanks to Benny Sharpe

Benny Sharpe's big game helped extend San Tan Charter's winning streak to eight on Friday. Sharpe did his part (and then some), rushing for 70 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries for the 'W'. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 55 yards.

San Tan Charter's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Sharpe and San Tan Charter will head out to square off against NFL Yet Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Uriah Neloms and Co. Win Eighth in a Row

Uriah Neloms was instrumental in extending San Tan Charter's winning streak to eight on Friday. Nobody could stop Neloms as he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 110 yards and a touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 85 yards.

This season, Neloms has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 153.1 passing yards per game.

Aaron Crawford Dazzles in Chandler Prep Victory

Rounding off our Top Five is Aaron Crawford of Chandler Prep. Crawford picked up 220 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 86 yards.

Crawford and Chandler Prep will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Heritage Academy at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st. The matchup will pit Crawford up against the Heroes' star pass catcher Paul Soltero. The only thing left to do is find out who's the greater deep ball threat. You'll have to watch the game to know for sure.
