After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Revere, Columbia was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Brookside Cardinals 11-1. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by ten runs or more this season.
Alina Jones spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Natalie Miller was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Columbia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Columbia's record is now 13-7. As for Brookside, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-15 record.
