Franklin Academy lost against Massena back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 11-10. Even though they lost, the Huskies' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Hunter Shantie put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Chase Carriero made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Joshua Avery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.
Franklin Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Massena, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Franklin Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Ogdensburg Free Academy on the 15th. Massena does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
