Basketball Recap: Scott Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jordan Clemons and Aaron Hampton

Scott was the 66-50 winner over Pendleton County when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Scott Eagles opened the new year with a less-than-successful 61-53 loss to the Pendleton County Wildcats. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Scott's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Aaron Hampton and Jordan Clemons. Hampton went 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and eight rebounds, while Clemons posted 11 points and five steals. Hampton is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaymon Coleman, who put up nine points.

Scott's record now sits at 5-8. As for Pendleton County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scott will venture away from home to challenge Holmes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pendleton County, they will head out on the road to square off against Dayton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
