The Wakulla Christian School Saints lost against the Liberty County Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Wakulla Christian School fell 53-43 to the Bulldogs. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wakulla Christian School in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.
Wakulla Christian School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Freddy McClendon, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that McClendon pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Paynter, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Wakulla Christian School's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Liberty County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakulla Christian School will take on the Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Emmanuel Christian is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
