The Pekin Dragons entered their tilt with the Delavan Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pekin enjoyed a cozy 60-46 victory over Delavan on Wednesday. Given Pekin's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Delavan is ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cooper Hansen and Bryson Horning certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Hansen scored 14 points, while Horning scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds.
Pekin's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Delavan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Pekin will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Delavan, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against El Paso-Gridley at 5:00 p.m.
