The Kellogg Panthers couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 55-48 to Maple Valley on Tuesday. Kellogg has not had much luck with Maple Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Hugo Martino and Grant McArthur certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Martino scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 5 blocks, while McArthur scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Howland, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Ayden Wilkes , who scored 22 points. Jake McDonald was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 15 rebounds and 5 assists.
Kellogg's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Maple Valley, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Kellogg will head out on the road to face off against Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Maple Valley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Calhoun Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 29th.
