The ALA - Queen Creek Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Crismon Rattlers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: ALA - Queen Creek has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Crismon will arrive with four straight wins.
ALA - Queen Creek's last matchup with Poston Butte could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. The Patriots lost 12-2 to the Broncos.
ALA - Queen Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matea Webster, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Crismon got the win against Prescott on Friday by a conclusive 9-2. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 contests by six runs or more this season.
Crismon also got a great performance from Emma Phelps as she tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Phelps has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alexis Galvez and Riley Mitchell did most of the damage at the plate: Galvez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Mitchell went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Galvez a new career-high. Skylar DaCosta was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Crismon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 15-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Crismon pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for ALA - Queen Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
Both ALA - Queen Creek and Crismon just can't seem to miss. The Patriots have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like Crismon struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
