The Owatonna Huskies posted their biggest victory since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. They blew past Mankato West 76-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Owatonna to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Olson, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Abigial P Shornock, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Owatonna is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for Mankato West, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.
Owatonna will head out on the road to take on Hastings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hastings is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Mankato West, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against New Ulm at 6:15 p.m. New Ulm presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mankato West in Minnesota (New Ulm is ranked 41st, while Mankato West is ranked 209th).
