This season hasn't been kind to the Columbus Christian Crusaders, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were beaten by Hauser 62-17 on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Columbus Christian in their matchups with Hauser: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Columbus Christian saw an underclassman step up: Emma Murray scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. Murray scored a full 64.7% of Columbus Christian's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Columbus Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hauser racked up 13.
Hauser's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Norah Berkenstock, who scored 16 points. Bella Kilps was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
The last time Columbus Christian won on the road was back on Saturday. Having now lost four straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 0-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.8 points per game. As for Hauser, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus Christian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Seven Oaks Classical at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Hauser, they will square off against Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Indianapolis Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
