Having just played yesterday, the Gilmour Academy Lancers will jump right back in to play the Lutheran East Falcons at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Gilmour Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lutheran East in Ohio (Gilmour Academy is ranked 38th, while Lutheran East is ranked 188th).
On Monday, Gilmour Academy came up short against Fairland and fell 58-45.
In what's become a running theme this season, Lutheran East gave their fans yet another huge win on Sunday. They breezed by Villa Angela-St. Joseph on the road to the tune of 63-22. That looming 63-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Lutheran East yet this season.
Gilmour Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lutheran East, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Gilmour Academy against Lutheran East when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gilmour Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
